Outer Austin, Texas Wedding Venues | Epoch Co+

Austin, Texas is home to a plethora of wedding venues, so we’ve created a guide of some of our favorite wedding venues in cities surrounding Austin, Texas. This collection contains venues just outside of the metroplex - still close enough to the action (and some awesome hotels), but without the hustle and bustle of downtown. We’ve not only curated a list of some of our favorite around Austin wedding venues, but also made wedding mood board ideas that we’d love to see (and help create) out at each venue! (Would you really expect anything less from wedding planners?)

First in our around Austin round up is The Grand Lady. This lovely lady is more than meets the eye with it’s immaculately restored Victorian-style home, gorgeous terrace, and modern, chic reception venue just 30 minutes away from downtown. The home is the cutest getting ready house - with it’s antique charm and it’s mid-century modern touches sprinkled throughout, you’ll have no lack of instagram-ready pictures while you’re getting ready with your besties. Outdoors, there are a few gorgeous spaces: a ceremony site surrounded by trees, a terrace overlooking The Grand Lady’s flower garden, and a cocktail hour space that allows your guests to perfectly flow between the ceremony and reception. The reception building is perfectly designed to take all the color and artful touches, or a more minimal modern design for up to 250 guests. With it’s concrete floors, wood ceiling, black-framed windows, and perfectly placed skylights, it’s a photographers’ dream.

To the left is a mood board that we created for The Grand Lady. Inspired by one of my favorite new movies, Don’t Worry Darling and a retro Wes Anderson vibe. Pops of citron and lagoon blue on a base of peachy-pink corals in their terrace area would bring this modern-retro vibe to life.

Next in our list is The Greenhouse at Driftwood. Located in the Hill Country, the grounds and the views are absolutely jaw-dropping. Indoors is styled beautifully for all your getting ready needs. This is where you’ll also find this venue’s namesake - their stunning greenhouse. With a stunning spiral staircase and gorgeous plants, the greenhouse makes for a stunning elopement spot, or the perfect place to sneak off with your S.O. for some pictures. Outdoors is where the Greenhouse at Driftwood shines - a tent slab, ready to customize to make it truly your own, a terrace surrounded and immersed in nature, and the grounds in between, it’s perfect for events big and small.

This mood board, inspired by the coast of Cabo will bring a fun pop to the al fresco vibe at this venue. Lots of shades of blue, balance with a touch of natural cashmere, and completed with a pop of tangerine. This will have you itching to go to Cabo to chill under a fun umbrella by the ocean.

Found in downtown Georgetown, Texas, Wish Well House was the perfect addition to this list. This home was Georgetown’s first hotel and has be immaculately redone to host weddings ideally expecting up to 150 guests. Two perfectly styled getting ready rooms with fun boho touches make for the perfect getting ready spaces with your closest friends and family before your wedding. The main hall and courtyard make for great options for ceremony, reception, and everything in between. Wish Well Houses’ in-house modern light wood tables are perfect on their own or with a fun linen, to make the perfect pop for indoor or al fresco dining. This historic home is absolutely worth the trip North of Austin.

Inspired by the fun colors found in Anthropologie and an ultra groovy ‘70s vibe, we think this would make for an ultra cool pop in Wish Well House. Bases of teal with fun pops of scarlet and apricot and bringing in a warm, neutral grey, would be so fun in this all neutrals and white space.

Windemere Farms

Moving South into San Marcos, Texas is the stunning and chic, Windemere Farms. The barn at the bottom of the property looks like it was plucked out of Ireland (which was exactly the owners’ goal). Moving up the rolling fields, passing the roaming bison and horses, you come to the gorgeous sailcloth tent that’s every outdoor receptions’ dream and a stone courtyard perfect for cocktail hour. While the tent and courtyard are perfect, nothing beats the view from the ceremony site. Even though San Marcos is technically just outside of the Texas Hill Country, you’ll think you’re right in the heart of it with the view here. They even have perfect getting ready/hideaway tents for you and your closest people. Windermere Farms is anything but your typical Texas barn venue, and is absolutely a must-see. Who doesn’t want a beautiful outdoor tented wedding without the logistical headache that comes with it for a true private property wedding? They have it all taken care of, level and with turf - set and ready to go for your dream tented wedding weekend.

Millennial Pink and fun patterns are at the forefront of this design. A fun pop of mint brings the pinks and greens to another level and reminds me of Charleston. Having something fun and spring-y under the tent with a fun circular bar inspired by the fountain to the left would be stunning at Windemere Farms.

Woodbine Mansion

Last, but certainly not least is Woodbine Mansion in Round Rock, Texas. This stunning restored mansion sits on almost two acres and has amazing outdoor spaces to boot. Inside the mansion is a dream with two stories worth of spaces designed to perfection, including five getting ready/changing rooms. Complete with two courtyards, private gardens, a garden trellis, and a gazebo, the outdoors of the property begs to be used. You also can’t help but notice all the stunning chandeliers inside the historical mansion - 14 of which are original to the home. There is dazzling eye candy at every turn in this stunning wedding venue. Dinning al fresco (or under a tent) is also commonplace here, and we love a good excuse for a tented wedding or dining outside. While your guests are partying on a custom vinyl wrapped dance floor, you and your beau can sneak off to get some gorgeous pictures on the property. Woodbine Mansion is a magnificent option for your outdoor wedding venue in Austin, Texas.

With the gorgeous outdoor space, bringing in some retro twilight vibes just sounds right at this Austin wedding venue. Purple and red is such an underrated color combination that photographs beuatifully, but bringing it to life with a touch of citrus-y oranges and yellows really brings this wedding mood board together.

Next week, we’ll have our Downtown Austin Wedding Venues round up, be sure to check it out!
