Las Vegas NFR | Western Fashion Behind The Scenes | Epoch Co+

Okay friends. This was an experience I never in a million years thought I would get to experience. In case you don’t know, western life has my heart. If I had my choice, I would spend all my time on horseback surrounded by cows (aka the most beautiful animal in the world). At the end of last summer, I got a call from one of our awesome past brides saying that she had a friend needing help in LAS VEGAS during the 2018 National Finals Rodeo (say what?!).

If you’ve never been to the NFR, it would be impossible to write everything down in a single blog post. There are so many different sections and I barely scraped the surface with what I got to experience. I spent the majority of my time hanging out with some of the most heartfelt people in the business. Total transparency for y’all, I was SUPER nervous about being there. First, I had never met anyone who I was meeting up with. Can use say ultimate stress? What was gonna happen when I got there? But as soon as I landed all that stress washed away. Within 45 minutes of landing I was standing with the awesome Joelle Souza (aka…thealohacowgirl) -- aka my go to boss babe and best friend in Vegas -- listening to the always amazing Aaron Watson!!

The next 8 days felt like they both flew by and drug on at the same time. It was absolutely nothing like I expected. It’s funny to watch people when they first arrive, because all of us are so excited to be in the middle of it all. Pretty soon though everyone gets tired and worn out. Honestly by about day 3 all I wanted to do was to sleep for a solid 12 hours and eat a very large steak (oh p.s. food in Vegas is extra expensive). Halfway through my time there, I got to see a new set of people coming in. I know that’s exactly what I looked like on my first day, and in that moment I had a brand new level of respect for the athletes and business owners who are there for a solid month. Watching as these rodeo people turn Las Vegas into their home for 4 weeks is amazing. I don’t think I would be able to do it...I love my bed and my Texas way too much!!

But enough about how exhausted it made me. The main thing that I will look back on this past December and remember are all the awesome people that I was able to meet during my time there, and all the cool things that we got to experience together. I absolutely love adventure, but I don’t get to travel as much anymore as I would like, so having this opportunity so soon after I graduated was a great experience (and yes I realize that I have said that so many times, but guys...this was seriously a dream come true!!). We spent a couple days walking around the expo centers picking out items to be in the fashion show and the photo shoots we were working on. The other days were actually spent on PHOTO SHOOTS!!! I seriously love styled shoots, and the fact that we got to do these on location in the Nevada desert….just W O W!!

So the main event that I was there for was beyond insane. I was up at 5 that morning working until about 6 that night. I so wish I could have gotten more pictures, but I barely touched my phone that entire day. Just know that getting to be back in that room while all our models were throwing on and off outfit after outfit was an insane adrenaline rush. I hope to have that experience again in the near future!

I knew this was going to be an experience to remember, but never could have imagined everything that I got out of it. Not only did I get to help create a western fashion show with a great western magazine, I also got to make some amazing friends along the way. I was able to work with some pretty great influencers in the western world, and see the heart behind what they do. The western industry is full of people who just want you to be 100% yourself and who are so encouraging toward one another. I will always be thankful for how they have all encouraged and continue to encourage me in who I am.

Here’s to hoping for another year at the biggest rodeo and western runway of the year! Enjoy all my candid snapshots from the best 8 days of my life!!

Modern Palm Springs Romance at The Meekermark || Epoch Co+

Our wedding design team had the pleasure of planning alongside a wedding venue on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, The Meekermark, for their annual Date Night event. After meeting with the venue staff, our planners went to work gathering the missing vendor details and information for a “Modern Palm Springs Romance” design. Our team loves all things tropical and beachy - we wanted to take our love for island life and infuse it into the design that would perfectly compliment the agrarian meets modern charm of the venue.

THE DECOR

Our team created a focal head table for design inspiration that fully embraced the modern + palm springs + romantic vibe. With Valentine’s Day being the special day of the event, we put our heads together with Urban Rubbish and chose to stick with bleached + white + creamy florals, adding in pink and peach tones. For linens, we incorporated luxe velvet linens in various tones of mauve, toffee and cream, with pops of amethyst provided by House of Hough. Pink napkins that played off of the protea colors were at each place setting with a delicious cupcake from Truly Scrumptious.

THE BRIDAL LOOK

A design isn’t complete without a model bride - read florist turned model (Evann you rock!!!) - to round out the whole look! We were thrilled to get Evann all dolled up to model the best floral head piece and bleached + palm springs bridal bouquet. It gave me all the boho, beachy vibes and made my heart sing!!!

Ivanov Artistry captured our look and vibe perfectly with the most fabulous braid incorporated! It embraced the romantic meets boho look effortlessly and the floral piece rounded out the “modern palm springs” aspect of the design. The whimsical bleached ferns….y’all, it was magic!

Aggieland Wedding Bash | Hilton | Epoch Co+

One of my favorite parts of moving back to Aggieland is the opportunity to not only work with a great network of fellow Aggie wedding vendors, but to be part of some EPOCH Aggie Sweetheart celebrations! Amelia and Drew's wedding was one of the best I have attended! Amelia was working off-shore every few weeks, and knew she would be off-shore two weeks leading up to her wedding. Her, Drew and her family decided hiring a wedding coordinator was the best option for streamlining the last few weeks and to keep everyone's mind at ease. Drew was a rockstar fiance by maintaining contact with us the last 6 weeks and keeping Amelia in the loop off-shore, as needed. We assisted with booking some last minute vendors, making sure their timeline of events + transportation flowed well between their getting ready locations, Catholic ceremony and Hilton ballroom reception, as well as overseeing the day of events. Theo Graphics beautifully captured their joyous celebration surrounded by the largest and happiest group of Aggies we have witnessed to date! We are thrilled to share this wedding with you and hope it inspires your own Texas A&M wedding, wherever it may be.

Rocky Mountain Vow Renewal | Heidi Elyse Photography | Epoch Co+

Words cannot express how excited I am to share a simple sneak of this vow renewal we did in July at the Rocky Mountain National Park, alongside destination photographer, Heidi Elyse Photography. This Arizona native roped us in to her client’s vow renewal between themselves and their newest bundle of joy, and we eagerly jumped at the chance to escape this Texas heat and fly off into the Colorado mountains. And by Texas Heat, ya’ll it was 112 degrees here in College Station the weekend we left. My husband made sure to let me know he was melting while we were galavanting around in the crisp, cool Colorado weather.

So! Enjoy this teaser until we get more to share.

Do you remember our blog post introducing the new wedding venue, The Gin at Hidalgo Falls? We eluded to a styled shoot we designed there to give future brides and grooms a glimpse at the beautiful vintage industrial venue that was coming to the outskirts of College Station Fall 2018! Our wedding planning team is super excited to finally share more images with you to showcase this stunning design alongside some of our favorite friends (vendors that are friends) now that the inspiration photoshoot has gone live with WHITE Magazine!

The Gin at Hidalgo Falls

Rich with History, The Gin at Hidalgo Falls is a restored 1950’s cotton gin just an hour outside of Houston, Texas. It’s set to open as a wedding venue Fall of 2018, and our planning team, Epoch Co+, (along with a wonderful team of friendors) has put together an exclusive look at the venue and it’s best photo spots. Fully renovated while keeping its charm, it’s the perfect inspiration for brides dreaming of that vintage and industrial look. Below are more details on how it all came together through the artistic eye of Ten23 Photography’s stunning photography.

The Gin Houston Austin College Station Modern Industrial Wedding Venue Epoch Co

Industrial Ceremony inspiration

The venue is rich with history and perfectly incorporates vintage-industrial design with modern details and amenities. With the venue still under construction, we did what we thought was best to capture the various brides in our surrounding cities (multicultural and body positive) to create a comprehensive look to potential clients – and one that gives respect and a welcoming message to all couple’s alike. All the while, maintaining the table decor to be reflective of the owner’s branding board.

The Silos

At the edge of the fields are also two fantastic silos that are aged to perfection and can create the perfect location near sunset for a late ceremony or sweetheart images of the newlyweds when the sun provides a dreamy glow!

Cotton Fields

The back side of the wedding venue is also surrounded by active cotton fields. These fields provide the perfect backdrop for ceremonies! Planting of the cotton seeds usually takes place by April, but can happen as late as May. Seedlings can emerge within a week, and the cotton morphology begins until harvest. Harvest in the area can occur between late August and Early September, and is dependent on the weather patterns.

The Gin - Porch

If the fields aren’t calling your name, and you adore The Gin structure itself – we think there are two fabulous locations to have an outdoor ceremony facing the wedding venue. The left end will have a gorgeous porch that is right off one of the getting ready suites that can house an outdoor ceremony option, (think rows of chairs for immediate family and standing ceremony with cocktail tables for larger events) or on the backside of the venue is an expansive wrap-around porch with the perfect little cove – which is where we chose to feature during this styled shoot.
