Garden Inspired Wedding | The Allan House | Austin, Texas
Sarah + Thomas’ Wedding
Sarah and Thomas’ elegant garden party wedding took place in the historically rich Allan House located in Austin, Texas. Filled with hundred year old oak trees and plenty of Victorian charm this wedding venue served as the perfect intimate gathering place for this couple's big day. While we have all heard of the wedding saying “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue”, for Sarah and Thomas their deep blue and earthy color palette was the perfect homage to this centuries-old saying for their December nuptials. From personalized guest favors to beautiful table-scapes and custom engagement rings, this quaint tented wedding will leave you feeling like you were whisked away to a winter fairytale.
Wedding Details
More and more frequently we are seeing brides opting for a twist on the modern engagement ring. Choosing to step outside the box for your engagement bling can be an excellent option for those brides or grooms looking to have a unique statement piece. Sarah’s gemstone engagement ring accented the couples wedding day so perfectly with the gems deep moody hues, and was a testament to the couple and their personality!
Wedding Party Fashion
If you have never considered different shades of blue as your wedding color scheme, this is the time too! Thomas and Sarah along with their wedding party, were dressed to the nines in their complimenting blue ensembles, and we couldn’t get enough of it! While light blue is a common wedding color, changing it up and adding different shades and deep hues of the color make all the difference and turn this look into one that is trendsetting and completely stands out from the rest!
Ceremony
An easy way to elevate private estate and outdoor weddings is by adding a clear top tent. Adding a tent to your wedding creates an elegant and sophisticated vibe, along with protection from the elements - especially here in Texas. This allows for fun floral touches like these chandeliers draped in greenery created by Unforgettable Floral! Another plus side to tent weddings is they safeguard you from having to worry about potential weather conditions, so your wedding day can be stress free!
Todays couples are looking to take the traditional wedding ceremony and add even more personal touches and symbolism. For Sarah and Thomas’ backyard wedding, the perfect way to add their personal spin was by planting a baby tree that will grow along side their marriage and future family. Now doesn't that sound romantic!
Reception
Re-staging the ceremony site to serve as the reception space is a great way to transform a small venue while still making a big impact! Adding beautiful tapers to any place setting automatically elevates any wedding and adds a level of class and charm that can’t be beat. For Sarah and Thomas’ guest seating they had adorable mini pots labeled and planted with each of the guests names. This is an excellent personalized touch and unique way to seat your guest and it also doubles as a great wedding favor! Having an elegant backyard wedding is perfect for the Brides and Grooms that would love a personal and intimate wedding day!
