How did you get into photography? How did you learn your way around a camera?
When I was a little girl my mom used to show all these photographs from her and my dad’s travel and would share amazing stories about far away places. Looking at the photos made me feel like I was almost there with them, so photography has held a special place in my heart ever since I was a child.
In terms of the skill some of it was self-taught by years of practice, watching YouTube videos and some of it I learned at school.
What made you decide to specialize in wedding photography? Do you do any other photography?
Honestly, I'm a hopeless romantic! Capturing those beautiful intimate connections between two people just makes my heart really happy! I also do family and couples photography. I used to do a lot of landscapes and food photography but it wasn't nearly as rewarding as capturing human connections which is why that's all I focus on now.
What do you feel sets you apart from other photographers?
I think my personality and my approach to photography. I take a very personalized approach to my photography and get to know every couple I work with. I make all of my photo-shoots really relaxed and fun! By the time their wedding day comes around, I want my couples to feel like they have an extra friend hanging with them on their wedding day. Getting to know them also allows me to capture them just as they are, so that they feel like themselves in the photos.
What are three words you would use to describe your ideal client?
Outdoorsy, fun, laid-back.
What is your favorite wedding to date?
I shot a small intimate wedding in Big Bend National Park! The views were absolutely breathtaking and my clients and their whole family were such warm, amazing people.
Any current wedding trends you are loving?
Pampas florals - I'm obsessed!!
Biggest wedding day challenge you have had to face?
A wedding a shot this past April happened during a thunderstorm. The original all outdoor venue flooded leaving my couples to find a new venue on the day of their wedding! It was absolutely crazy but somehow they pulled it all off and everything worked out. The lighting at the new venue was very different than what I was prepared for so I really had to think on my feet but both me and the client were really happy with how their photos turned out.
3 Crucial tips you would love to share for future clients?
1. Do whatever makes you happy. If you want a big wedding then have a big wedding or if you want to have a tiny intimate wedding then that's what you should do. You will get a lot of unsolicited opinions about your wedding but you just have to learn to ignore them!
2. If you can hire a wedding planner, you have no idea how much stress you will save yourself!
3. Hire an amazing photographer who you click with. This person is going to spend your whole day with you so you want to make sure you hire someone who you feel comfortable with or it will show in your photos.

I absolutely love reading, although don't do it nearly enough! Some of my favorite books are 'If you could see me now', 'The Alchemist' and 'Shantaram'.
I watch simply way too many movies to name you just one favorite, but ‘10 Things I Hate About You’ is on my top list. I also really love a good sci-fi!
I fell in love with Thai food when I backpacked around Thailand after college, so that's probably my favorite, along with Pizza!
I really love traveling, but I don't think I have a favorite place, I like so many different places for different reasons. Next place on my travel bucket list is Bali! I'm hoping to go sometime in 2020 and I'm so excited!!
