First Look Perks || Southern Wedding || The Grand Texana

Hi Friends! One of the first things I remember Laurin saying during our first meeting was how she “robbed the cradle”. From there they just continued to be full of so much fun, all the while sharing those loving looks that make the heart just melt. This wedding day full of love between our couple, and their families, was one that I will remember always! Also...who else is as big of a cow fanatic as I am? If you are, Laurin and Jonathan’s fall wedding sunset portraits are right up your alley!

VENDOR TEAM

First Looks

Before sharing anything else about this wedding, I wanted to talk about first looks. If I’m being totally honest, I am 100% partial to not doing a first look. I’m a sucker for that moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time as she walks toward him down the aisle! However, there are some big time perks to having a first look before the ceremony. In this case, our bride and groom got to take pictures with their wedding party pre-ceremony, leaving time for some killer shots post-ceremony with just them two!!

It also created such a calm environment before the ceremony. The bride wasn’t worried about early guests seeing her in her gown, because the most important person from the day had already seen her. This allowed our awesome photographer to take plenty of detail shots, and some really cool, almost editorial shots as well! So while I will always lean heavily toward the tradition of not seeing each other before that beautiful walk down the aisle...I will also never have an objection to doing a first look. It all depends on what you and your sweetheart want!

On another note, stormy days will  A L W A Y S create the perfect lighting and backdrop for portraits. These have to be some of my favorite bride/groom images of all time. And not just because there are cows in the background (although that does have a lot to do with it…). I hope you enjoy looking at the love shining through this beautiful couple as they enjoy their first moments as husband and wife!!

Cheers!
