Summertime Floral Maximalism: European Garden Meets Speakeasy at Prospect House in Austin, Texas

Megan and Ryan's June wedding in Austin at Prospect House. We were inspired by all of the bright colors found in Europe in the summer, and driven by the couple's desire for an intimate and down to earth feeling wedding that made their guests feel special.

To kick this off and get the ultimate use of the venue's spaces, we turned their gallery into a Speakeasy inspired by Ryan, and the couple's shared love of cocktails. This welcomed guests as they arrived before the ceremony, allowing them to chat, grab a spiked sno-cone or signature cocktail, and a light bite before sitting down for the Catholic ceremony.

Rather than having the traditional bridesmaids bouquets, we opted for arranged floral baskets - this made for a cute moment as they walked down the aisle, but didn't feel wasted as they sat for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was beautiful with a lush arch that repurposed later in the evening, and intimate moments sprinkled throughout, like the couple sharing communion together.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited back into the "Nolan Speakeasy" to enjoy cocktail hour, with hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, more sno-cones, taking pictures on the couch bought for Megan and Ryan's home under the ceremony arch, and the surprise for the groom, llamas (his favorite animal). Guests were guided to their seats with the Nolan Speakeasy seating display with each table named after a different cocktail or mocktail.

The reception space was a maximalists' dream with the floral monogram hanging above the second bar, the epic ombre floral install over the head table, and the most gorgeous tabletop details to boot. Dinner was a romantic and jovial affair with the most splendid family style meal. Before hitting the dance floor, Megan and Ryan cut into Megan's dream cake. A true vintage design complete with a vintage cake topper she found while thrift shopping. Once all of the formalities were done, everyone partied it up with the band. When the night was winding down, we brought out whataburger (the best drunk snack), and began to lead everyone outside for the final surprise of the night - fireworks to end one hell of a celebration.
