Howdy friends! I’m excited to get to share another Vendor Spotlight with y’all! This week is the stunning Contigo Ranch in Fredricksburg, Texas. What made you decide to get into the wedding venue business?
The Edgerton family owns Contigo Ranch and are well-versed in all things hospitality-associated, having owned a guest property in south Texas for many decades before relocating to Fredericksburg. Ben Edgerton, along with his business partner, own Contigo Austin Restaurant, Contigo Catering and Contigo Fareground~ all located in Austin, Texas. Ann Edgerton is the interior designer of Contigo Ranch Event Hall and onsite cottages and cabins.
What is your favorite wedding to date at your venue? Why?
Our very favorite wedding happens every week! It's impossible to choose just one as they all represent a genuinely original aspect...it could be the one that featured live Llamas. Or the one that featured the bride's grandmothers as the flower girls. We love every ceremony at Contigo because they are all so different from another.
What kind of ceremony options do you have?
We host ceremonies of all types, faiths and preferences. Most take place at the Overlook, our pristine site that sits 120' higher than nearby Enchanted Rock. Our 350 year old Great Oak tree is a favorite location for an occasional ceremony, party and engagement photographs.
What makes your venue a good value for couples?
Contigo Ranch has fifteen onsite BnB's that make it so easy for families to come stay on the ranch for an entire wedding weekend. Trap shoots, lake fishing, watching the wildlife and sunsets rank as favorite activities!
What are three things you would recommend a couple ask when booking a venue?
Always ask: 1) Are there are any additional costs such as clean-up fees or security deposits. 2) What time is sunset when having an outdoor ceremony. 3) What is the back-up plan for inclement weather for an outdoor ceremony.
What sets your venue apart from others in the hill country?
So many details, so little space! Our commercial kitchen, which caterers love, as not many venues have the full size set-up we offer, from griddle to grill to commercial dishwasher. This can be an overlooked detail at many venues and we are proud to offer caterers the ability to show off their best, fresh-cooked meal for every event. Our gorgeous hilltop ceremony site that overlooks thousands of unspoiled hill country acres is unparalleled. And definitely our classic event hall with its industrial glass garage doors that every couple requests to be opened for dancing under twinkling lights!
Are there any ways you would like to see your venue used/set-up that has no been done in the past or has not been done enough?
We are so excited to host a huge star party for the full solar eclipse on April 08.2024 as Contigo Ranch is located in the direct eclipsical path!
