Paws Up Resort Wedding Weekend Buyout & Murder Mystery Rehearsal Dinner at Stables | Missoula, Montana
Halloween Weekend meant embracing some of the excitement of the holiday by kicking off the wedding weekend with a custom scripted Murder Mystery Rehearsal Dinner. After providing details of the wedding party members to our writer, hosting the event at the gorgeous stables of Paws Up, a western murder mystery was crafted around the guests in attendance.
Scenes were crafted around the courses served, before revealing our victim and allowing guests to cast a vote by dessert. The connections, conversations and ways guests were encouraged to interact with each other was out of the box, unique and the best ice-breaker for a weekend together!
A simple ceremony with modest meadow flowers allowed the focus of the ceremony to be the stunning mountain landscape of Missoula, Montana and the couple. Timing everything around sunset, guests were encouraged to enjoy the setting sun over the Mountains with spiked hot chocolate and bourbon cocktails. Blankets were provided for guests to get cozy before sprinter vans arrived to transport guests to the barn for dinner, dancing and s’mores around a bonfire.
Our couple wasn’t one for the spotlight, so we planned intentional moments together where they could have time together without having to feel like they were “on” the whole time. While guests found their escort card in the loft to their dining table, named after locations around the world that were meaningful to the couple, we hosted a private first dance for the couple downstairs. They then shimmied their way upstairs with a quick toast and thank you to the guests before kicking off dinner.
Once dinner concluded, everyone made their way to the lower part of the barn where the barn, DJ and outdoor bonfire were awaiting until the late hours of the night before everyone made their way back to their private lodges and cabins.
