Hey Friend!!! I am absolutely thrilled to dive into blogging this hill country wedding we had the extreme pleasure of planning and designing, chapter by chapter. Derek and Taylor are based out of Nashville, Tennessee, but set their hearts on Austin, Texas when planning their wedding day. I was so incredibly grateful to have Epoch’s name thrown into the hat for Austin wedding planners, and enjoyed each and every step of the way working alongside these dreamy clients to plan their destination wedding here in Texas! Taylor + Derek were bold, joyful, inviting, kind and unique. Their wedding reflected every single bit of that with a juicy colorful, boho brewery meets industrial chic vibe at the iconic Austin area wedding venue, Prospect House, technically in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Most weddings always put an emphasis on the getting ready aspect for the bridal party, with a general time to arrive and get dressed for the groom + groomsmen. But here at Epoch, we like to make sure our Groom’s feel the love, too. During the entire wedding planning process, Derek and Taylor were truly a team. Working together on decisions step by step. There were even times that Derek was the one taking care of various design calls along the way, so we really go to know the “who” behind the groom, too. I knew he liked Jester King because he so kindly gave me a tip about a custom craft beer release happening at this brewery right around my Husband’s birthday, who Derek knew also loved craft beer. This allowed us to snag a few of these beers, only sold on location, to put aside and give to the groom for him to have, too! Knowing Derek’s love for craft brew, and Jester King Brewery being a short skip, hop and a jump away from Prospect House, we strategically planned their pre-wedding festivities to include a nice relaxing morning and lunch at Jester King Brewery, before arriving at Prospect House for getting ready and first looks. Our rad photographer even had their second shooter pop over to snap some epoch images, because the groom deserves love and attention, too, on this joyous wedding day!

A few notes about the Groom + Groomsmen attire for the wedding day. I love that they went with timeless black suits. With all the color being added elsewhere, the simple, class black suits did not compete and sure created some dapper dudes! Because of the love from homebrew + craft beer, we had the florist incorporate hops into the bouts, and it was such a fun, unique nod toward the groom on his special day!
